Mission: Reaching Out to Others

“In all things I have shown you that by so toiling one must help the weak, remembering the words of the Lord Jesus, how he said, ‘It is more blessed to give than to receive.’” Acts 20:35

The Church sponsors mission programs that engage our members in ways that enhance individual and corporate faith development; satisfy our call as Christians to a higher social responsibility in our community, nation and world; and make a difference in the lives of the people who we serve.

Christ Clarion Presbyterian Church offers many avenues for members to share and give in the spirit of faith. We welcome you to join us.

Christ Clarion members are active in mission work from right here in the Rochester area to through out the US and internationally.

• Rochester-based Missions: Christ Clarion is a key supporter of Cameron Community Ministries, an urban Christian outreach ministry based in northwest Rochester. We serve on the board of directors, volunteer for several programs and contribute supplies to the food cupboard and clothes closet. We also collect food and help pack food bags for distribution for Southwest Ecumenical Ministries (SWEM) in Rochester. Examples of other local activities include Adopt-A-Highway, CROP Walk, Elderberry Express, Habitat for Humanity and Women Helping Girls (WHG).

• Mission Across America: Christ Clarion is always looking for opportunities to make a difference. The teens and adult chaperons make an annual trip to Maine for mission work projects in economically depressed areas. We are also quick to respond to needs resulting from emergencies, such as suppling personal care kits for hurricane victims. A volunteer from Christ Clarion particpated in the RHINO project - Rebuilding Hope In New Orleans, following the disastrous Katrina hurricane. 

• Global Mission: Christ Clarion has long been a supporter of the Comprehensive Development Project of the Haiti Fund. Not only do we contribute funds, but our members have made several mission trips to Haiti. We also recently took advantage of a member couples sabbatical work trip to Chiapas Mexico to provide needed medical supplies to rural areas of this Mexican state.
